Marketing Coordinator

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Marketing Coordinator supports the Utah Flute Association by providing support and advising on the marketing efforts of the executive and general boards. This role assists with the development and implementation of UFA’s advertising strategies, ensuring the successful creation, tracking, and analysis of marketing assets.  The Coordinator will also be empowered to make informed suggestions for all assets and to identify thoughtful strategies to extend the reach and impact of UFA’s campaigns—attracting new participants and demographics to events and retaining current members. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines are essential, as this role collaborates with the UFA board, creative freelancers, and advertising partners to manage channels for a broad range of campaigns and initiatives.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Support the development and implementation of all UFA’s advertising strategies across varying media channels.
  • Effectively work to improve communication with our audiences and ensure the proper accuracy, method, and volume of communication with participants.
  • Manage social media
  • Update the website
  • Strategically manage the distribution of campaign deliverables (emails, flyers, etc.) to enhance the reach of our campaigns and strengthen connections with our communities.
  • Coordinate efforts with the President to connect with and attract emerging audiences through relationships with community partners.
  • Help produce advertising materials—including print, direct mail (postcards, brochures, flyers), and social ads and oversee visual brand.
  • Actively track, manage, and evaluate the effectiveness of the newsletter, direct mail, and other assets. Share results with the board and make suggestions for adjustments as necessary.
  • Develop and manage brand activations at events and in the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business; or commensurate experience of at least one to two years working in marketing and promotion.
  • An understanding of small non-profit organizations
  • Concert or event promotion experience preferred.
  • Ability to capture and use data to measure marketing programs and inform decision making.
  • Skilled in editing marketing collateral for impact, clarity, and correct grammar.
  • Proficiency with Google Drive applications or related software.
  • Proficiency with WordPress preferred.
  • Proficiency with Canva preferred.
  • An eye for design and basic graphic design skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of the creative development process and media planning.
  • Proven ability to find creative ways to reach target audiences.
  • Team player with proven ability to work collaboratively across the organization and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to professionally solve problems and meet multiple deadlines when under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Flexible working schedule, including occasional evening and weekend events based on organization’s calendar (to be provided upon hire)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Utah resident 

TIME & COMPENSATION:

  • 5-10 hours a week
  • Starting rate at $32/hour
