Orchestral Mock Audition with the Utah Symphony Flute Section

Date: March 14, 2025
Time: 5-6pm (during the Sonata Competition)
Location: Jewett Center for the Performing Arts – Westminster College
Registration: September 1, 2024 – February 8, 2025, 11:59 PM MST

Take part in a mock audition judged by the Utah Symphony Flute Section!

Participants will receive a time prior to the audition, and will have a private practice room in which to prepare directly before their time slot. A runner will escort the participant from the practice room to the stage, where they will perform the three excerpts below before a blind panel. A personnel manager will be on stage should the participant wish to make a comment or ask a question, as to not disclose their identity. After the panel has heard all participants, winners will be announced at the end of the hour, and the winners will have a chance to speak to the panel.

Winners of this mock audition will get to work Mercedes Smith, Lisa Byrnes, and Caitlyn Valovick Moore in a masterclass during the convention on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 3pm.
