With a career spanning over 50 years, this year’s guest artist is jazz flutist Ali Ryerson.
Utah Flute Convention Class Schedules

The Utah Flute Convention on March 21, 2026, takes place at the Caine School of Music at Utah State University, with performances and educational experiences for flutists of all levels.
Highlights include Ali Ryerson’s masterclass and recital, along with other expert-led masterclasses, jazz and improvisation sessions, youth classes, a flute choir reading, an artist performer and an orchestral excerpt competition, and vendor exhibits.

The 2026 UFA Sonata Competition provides flutists of all ages an opportunity to perform diverse classical and jazz repertoire across multiple levels, from beginners to professionals. An optional sight-reading component is offered at each level for added performance experience and feedback.
The UFA Artist Performer division features professional flutists from Utah and Idaho in a two-round competition culminating live at the 2026 UFA Convention, with a $500 cash prize awarded to the winner.
